Madelaine is a creative mind of note! What started as a Diploma in Make-up and Production design at City Varsity, Cape Town from 2011 to 2013 grew to her being one of the most sought after Stylists and Creative Art Directors in South Africa.
Soon after finishing the above-mentioned Diploma, Madelaine decided to further her studies in order to also become a Personal Shopper and Fashion Stylist. From the first get-go, she was determined to work her way to the top with a variety of skills.
Her professional theatre career began in 2014 when she was the Costume Assistant on the set of Vettie Vettie – one of SA’s most loved theatre productions. Whilst Vettie Vettie was on at Monte Casino’s Pieter Toerien Theatre, she received the opportunity to take over the costume design with great success. Her insight and natural sense of styling grabbed the attention of many Producers which lead to adding many more Theatre productions to her CV, which included Twee Vir Die Prys Van Een, Altyd In My Drome, and Heidi Die Musical for which she received a Broadway Award for Best Costume Design.
This got her noticed by even more, especially film and television producers and she was snatched up in a heartbeat to manage the costume design and art direction for two kykNET Silwerskerm short films: Spoorloos and Koue voete. She soon after assisted in the costume department for the award-winning Erfsondes and quickly climbed the ladder to Head of Costume Design for the series It’s Okay We’re Family and 13 full-length films on kykNET.
Madelaine is also a stylist for the TFG Group (Foshini, Markhams and The Fix) and does make-overs for TV shows like Dr. Nou on Via (DSTV channel 147). She has also styled many South African celebrities for various occasions.
